Warehouse property costs increase on average 8.4% globally, with London the most expensive location in the world to take space

"The average cost of warehouse property increased 8.4% between June 2021 and June 2022 across 52 global markets, says Savills, as demand surged for industrial and logistics space in the wake of the pandemic. London is the most expensive warehouse in the warehousing market in the world, with prime space costing $35 per sq ft (rent, service charges and taxes), followed by Hong Kong ($26) and Tokyo ($22)."

Savills reveals rocketing ‘Spacetech’ VC investment may follow life sciences in driving new wave of real estate requirements

"Following the extraordinary rise in investment in and take-up of real estate by the life science sector over the past few years, Savills has identified that the space sector – specifically ‘SpaceTech’ (spaceflight, satellites and exploration technology) – has seen global venture capital (VC) investment growth of 67% per annum for the past three years, and is therefore likely to drive a spate of new requirements for real estate globally."

"The global office investment sector, like other types of real estate, is coming under some pressure from the macro-economic environment, but strong fundamentals should keep investment yields largely stable in many key markets, including Paris, London, Sydney, Mumbai and Dubai, says Savills, with yields actually forecast to harden in Frankfurt and Tokyo due to specific local conditions."
