Residential property in Singapore

The wealthy and hugely efficient island state of Singapore has great shopping and wonderful affordable food along with high rises, ancient temples and surprisingly easy access to green spaces.

Singapore is a global financial and economic success story, a business-minded, stable and secure democracy with a significant and growing number of global residents. It is considered one of the world’s easiest cities to conduct business as well as somewhere that offers a delightful Southeast Asian lifestyle.

Singapore has one main island and 60 smaller ones, the largest of which are Jurong, Pulau Tekong, Pulau Ubin and Sentosa. In addition the government is actively pursuing a policy of land reclamation. Non-Singaporeans can buy apartments but not detached houses or land unless they have permanent residence status.

Popular residential areas include Orchard Road, Tanglin and Holland Village, all served by excellent public transport links. Orchard Road is central with immediate access to extensive facilities while upmarket Tanglin offers detached homes and low-level apartments alongside numerous embassies. Holland Village is a little more bohemian but also a convenient area.

Younger couples like the convenience of Robertson Quay close to the Central Business District while Sentosa Island has some of the most luxurious homes in Singapore along with the chance to berth a boat outside your home.

The beaches and running trails of the East Coast appeal for those wanting larger apartments while Selatar in the northeast provides spacious homes and gardens close to an International School.
