Head of London Residential Development, Dominic Grace, and the Prime Estates team both took home prizes at the 2016 RESI Awards. Organised by Property Week, the ceremony was held on Wednesday 11 May at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s West End.

Dominic Grace was named ‘Personality of the Year,’ with judges describing him as the ‘go to man when it comes to London residential property’. Having joined Savills in 1984 when the business was only just beginning to advise on residential development, Dominic advised on the first large-scale London residential development at Chelsea Harbour. Since then he has gone on to be involved in all of the major London residential schemes including Chelsea Barracks, Greenwich Peninsula and One Hyde Park.

Dominic comments: “It came as a complete surprise and was very humbling to receive such an award in front of 1,300 clients, other agents and property professionals. Ultimately it is an award for everyone in the residential space at Savills.”

In addition, Savills Prime Estates team was awarded Property Manager of the year, which was collected by Jonathan Channing. Key achievements for the team include the appointment by LaSalle to manage its £500 million PRS/build to rent portfolio, and  the creation of a bespoke “Set Up” team providing advice to developers and property owners on management strategy and budgeting.

Mark Ridley, chief executive of Savills UK and Europe, says: “These awards celebrate excellence in residential property, and it is testament to Dominic’s established reputation in the industry and fantastic achievements throughout his career that he has been recognised with this prestigious accolade.

“Furthermore, I’m very pleased our Primes Estates team, having been set up three years ago, has been recognised for its great success and commitment to client service.”

Savills also sponsored the inaugural retirement living operator award, with Audley Retirement taking home the prize.

The Josh Carrick Foundation was proud to be the charity of choice for the awards for the fourth year running and raised an over £16,000 for the foundation, with Chairman and Savills marketing director Steve Carrick making a  speech on the night.
