Residential property in Nigeria

Africa’s most populous country, its largest oil producer and certainly its largest economy, Nigeria is understandably nicknamed the Giant of Africa. Its buoyant economy focuses on oil exploration centred on the Niger Delta, telecommunications, agriculture and mining.

Lagos is in the southwestern corner of the country on the Atlantic Sea. This is Africa’s largest city while Abuja, Nigeria’s capital since 1991 is a modern, planned city in the centre of the country.

Nigeria attracts interest from many international investors. For residential property the areas in Abuja they consider include Wuse 2 and the large detached homes in Maitama and Asokoro, close to hotels and shops.

In Lagos the generous properties in the safe compounds on Banana Island are an exclusive option and particularly the mainly older homes around the golf course in Ikoyi. Immediately across the lagoon and linked by road, Victoria Island is the business centre and has numerous nearby housing estates.
