With beautiful white-sand beaches, marine parks filled with tropical fish and the bluest seas, the laid-back Seychelles tick all the boxes of a perfect dreamy getaway.
The archipelago is made up of 116 islands in the southwest Indian Ocean just below the equator, some granite and some coral and less than 30 inhabited.
The islands are safe and offer a high degree of privacy – one reason why they attract a stellar roll call of famous names. They lie outside of the main hurricane zone with temperatures between 25ºC and 30ºC. Each island has its own distinct character and hopping between them is easy by plane, helicopter or boat.
Mahé is the largest island where 90 per cent of the population lives. Praslin is the second largest and home to Anse Lazio, consistently voted one of the best five beaches in the world. It includes the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Vallee de Mai where the rare coco de met palm grows.
